This past weekend,
we ventured out to good ol’ Sin City, Las Vegas, NV. — Not to gamble, but to visit the Mr. Olympia Fitness Expo at the Las Vegas Convention Center. We LOVE eating Donuts, Cookies, and Cream, BUT we also enjoy participating in fitness activities. Eating a lot of desserts and working out? Have you seen this combo? It may not be the conventional way of being fit, but we like to live life with the mantra, “everything in moderation.” #EATtoLive #LIVEToEat
The first stop prior to arriving at the Mr. Olympia Fitness Expo was to Ronald’s Donuts. We welcomed ourselves to a pink box of the traditional and infamous vegan donuts. Old school mom and pop shops still tickle our fancy because we absolutely love the classic donuts.
We bought donuts for ourselves and to pass around to any donut lover at the Mr. Olympia Expo. We came here to meet people and product samples, but the cool part was that Optimum Whey had #PROTEIN Ice Cream! Too bad it ran out before we got there, but now we know protein ice cream exists.
Despite the enormous crowd of people (it was crazy packed with people from all over the world!), Kane Sumabat a.k.a. Timbawolf a.k.a. the “I.I.F.Y.M – If It Fits Your Macros” or “Flexibile” dieting master was spotted roaming solo. Fellow Donuts, Cookies, and Cream member, Thinh L. was able to catch up to him, snap a quick photo, and even offered a donut that he accepted! #FANBOY
After a long day of waiting in incredibly long lines to meet well known fitness enthusiasts and acquire supplement samples from all of the companies, we were HUNGRY! Enter, the Bacchanal buffet at Caesar’s Palace, which was dubbed as the “Best Buffet in Las Vegas” by USA Today.
We were on a “seefood diet” at that point and started off with seafood of course. #CRABLEGSforDAYS Bacchanal offers an international selection with so many food choices! There’s food from different cultural backgrounds, and we made sure we tried every food station, and its variety of offerings. We were gifted with two stomachs tonight — One for the savory dinner, and a second for the desserts. When it comes to desserts, #WeDon’tPlay. It’s our favorite part of any meal! Of course, we all fell into a food coma that lasted until the early morning after we left the buffet… #Happydreams
Naming a “FEW” of the desserts we had were:
- 1. Crepe with Ice Cream
- 2. Cookies
- 3. Crème Brulee
- 4. Shave Ice
- 5. Doughnut Gelato Sandwich
- 6. Gelato
- 7. Chocolate Lava Cake
- 8. Macarons
The morning of our Vegas departure back to Orange County, CA we HAD to get Pink Box Doughnuts 13 miles OUT of the way from home. This was THE doughnut shop that started Thinh L. with his sweet tooth last year. Their menu is comprised of three different categories: Classic, Specialty, and Gourmet ( Add $0.50 ) for the gourmet dozen. We opted for the gourmet dozen and Thinh L. confirmed this was definitely why he began eating donuts again.
Check out our #Tastemade Video of our delicious dozen, donuts we tried were (we bought multiples of some):
- 1. Fat Elvis
- 2. Nutty Pig
- 3. Banana Cream Pie
- 4. Granny’s Caramel Apple
- 5. Cronut
- 6. S’mores
- 7. Cookies N Cream
- 8. Peanut Butter & Jelly
