In the Hollywood Hills,
Kettle Glazed Doughnuts parks on the bustling street of Franklin near the 101 Freeway. Above their door is a HUGE sign that says “Kettle Glazed,” in bold white font calling for you to come and squeeze into any parking space available. If you missed it, it might be a good time to get your eyes checked. Luckily, we have super doughnut senses and found it easily.
Stepping into this joint took us back in time. The decor of Kettle Glazed is retro’d out, but the doughnuts they had on their menu were surely of the present. It gets busy in the morning, but most people come and go in a flash.
We love the classic doughnuts, BUT if there’s an option for doughnuts that might be on a whole ‘nother level, we’re going for it. Our choices to try were a Croughnut, Maple Bacon, and the S’mores doughnuts, and they did not disappoint.
The Cinnamon sugar croughnut, which is a combination of puff pastry and a croissant, had a nice flake and the chocolate drizzle on top was the icing on the cake.
Maple Bacon doughnut with one full strip of bacon on top. OINK
S’mores doughnut with a marshmallow and graham cracker on top.
There are three levels of doughnut goodness here: Classic Doughnuts, Specialty Doughnuts, and Other Baked Goodies. Of course when it comes to doughnuts, some may be seasonal and your mileage may vary when you visit. The prices will range from $1.25 – $3.75, dependent upon doughnut intricacy, which is pretty standard prices for doughnuts these days.
