Los Angeles is a melting pot of different cultures and food.
A few weeks ago, we ate at EMC Seafood & Raw Bar, which is an Oyster Bar with CHEAP $1 oysters during happy hour. Waiting for EMC to open, we were on Yelp.com to find Donuts, Cookies, or Cream spots that were local. California Donuts was nearby, but we’ve had it many times before, so we had to search for a new DCC spot. Guess what we found? HONEYMEE.
Less than half a mile away and a brisk 3 minute walk, HoneyMee was the place to be. Okay, dinner, CHECK, dessert, DEFINITE CHECK. We thought we had our dessert game on lock, but that happy hour was just too happy at EMC. Dinner, CHECK, dessert, RAIN CHECK. #TooFull
Fast forward, we had to come back and try out Honeymee, since we had originally planned for it. Fellow Donuts, Cookies, And Cream followers even mentioned to us that we needed to give this spot a try. Thanks for the mentions ladies and gents, keep it coming!
The buzz for dessert in Korea Town is Honeymee, which serves “True Milk Ice Cream” made with fresh California Milk natural flavoring. The signature topping to get is their honey, which is 100% pure and natural, and stems from a local bee farm.
On the menu you’ll find 5 main items:
1. Darling – True milk ice cream
2. Dear – True milk ice cream with Ghiradelli chocolate sauce and sprinkles of sea salt from France or Ghiradelli caramel syrup
3. Sweetie – True milk Ice Cream with 100% natural liquid honey swirl
4. Honeymee – True milk Ice Cream with 100% natural honeycomb chip
5. Babee – one of the ice cream selections above served in a fresh sweet bun
We ordered the Sweetie Babee, which was a combo of the True Milk ice cream with 100% natural liquid honey swirl in a fresh sweet bun. Two words came to mind when biting into the Sweetie Babee “ soft & sweet. ” The sweet bun & true milk ice cream texture was soft, and the honey on top was definitely sweet.
If your sweet tooth is as big as ours, and you love honey, then you’ll love it here. Currently there’s two locations, Korea Town and Rowland Heights, and a third to be opening soon in Fullerton, CA.
Their motto is: Happy Bee. Happy Mee. Happy You. Come to Honey Mee and get happy. #ClapAlongIfYouFeel
